There is a promenade running along the seafront with good seafood restaurants and bars. The sandy beach here is a hit with families and the ferry goes daily from the harbour to the neighbouring island of Fueterventura. Accommodation in Playa Blanca consists of self catering 2 bedroom apartments and 3 bedroom apartments and private villas with pools (some heated!) thus making it a good choice for couples and families. However, if you require hotel accommodation that will be no problem.

Playa Blanca is a more quiet resort but still benefits from shops as well as bars and good restaurants. Lanzarote itself is famous for windsurfing and it has the added advantage of its own windsurfing school at La Cucharas beach. There is also a volcano on the island which is worth a visit.
